Pregnant Mom

“The most useful thing from class was the latching technique. I would love to have two classes instead of one.”

“Julia is simply amazing. She is the kindest person and her love and caring of others resonates through her lactation methods. She is incredibly accommodating, patient, wonderful with any age parent, and any level of [breastfeeding] experience.”

“I have worked with Julia in several capacities—we both volunteer with Nursing Mothers Counsel and co-teaching a breastfeeding class together for Mother Child Education Center. I also co-led a new mom’s group that Julia created.

With her background as an opera singer and children’s music specialist, Julia taught and sang songs for sleeping and playtime that mothers learned, sharing what they sang with their babies at home. Mothers feel safe and welcomed by Julia and they came back week after week to the mom’s group forming a supportive community.

Julia is a mother of twin girls, which gives her great empathy and insight into the joys and challenges of parenting. She is dedicated to serving mothers and families (in their homes, online, and in the community). Julia demonstrates knowledge about breastfeeding and newborns [as well as] sensitivity, flexibility, listening skills and joy—all assets that families will appreciate. I encourage you to work with Julia Vaara in any and all of these capacities.”

“This year Julia started a mother support group which became a well attended favorite among new mothers. She has a way of making people feel safe and welcomed and follows up with them.

Julia is a mother of twins and sees that parents and children can benefit from finding their community of support for the best care and feeding practices for brain development and bonding. For the new mother support group, Julia brought together a nice space, reliability, speakers and group leaders such as myself.

She formed a Facebook group to help moms meet-up and to keep track of what they may be needing, from back to work trouble-shooting to sleep questions to postpartum depression support.”
